Knitting 101: Washcloth @ Good Grief Yarn

Take your first step toward making your own clothes and household items by learning to knit! This project-based course is designed for absolute beginners. Even if you've never held a knitting needle before I will patiently walk you through all the steps necessary for completing a simple first project—your very own washcloth.

Splish splash! Maybe don’t take your knitting into the bath, but after you’ve learned to knit this simple washcloth you can scrub a dub dub with your own hand knit!

    Whether you’ve tried to knit in the past or you’ve never touched knitting needles before, this class is for you.

  • This 3-part, 6-hour course demystifies the craft and focuses on building core techniques and confidence.

    What You Will Learn:

    • How to Cast On: Starting your project the right way.

    • The Foundational Stitches: How to execute the Knit and Purl stitches.

    • Creating Texture: How to successfully change between knit and purl stitches on the same row.

    • Finishing Strong: How to bind off and finish your project cleanly.

    • Troubleshooting: Essential tips for fixing common mistakes like dropped or misplaced stitches.

    • Reading Patterns: Taking your first step into understanding knitting patterns and abbreviations.

  • This course includes:

    • 1 ball of Estelle Sudz yarn in your choice of colour (choose the colour at time of booking)

    • 1 pair of knitting needles in the appropriate size for the project
