Beginner Crochet For Kids @ Studio Mooi

Introduce kids to the creative world of crochet! This 3-week course (90 minutes per class) will give kids ages 7 and up the foundational skills they need to begin creating their own crocheted items! The course will cover how to hold and move the crochet hook, how to chain a foundation row, and how to single crochet before getting students to pick a simple beginner project that they can work on with help from an expert instructor.

  • Each week students will work towards learning basic skills, culminating in creating a small beginner project of their choice.

    What You Will Learn:

    • The Crochet Hook: How to hold it comfortably and how to move it to create stitches

    • Chaining the Foundation Row: How to start your project.

    • Single Crochet: A basic stitch used to make a variety of items, from clothes to amigurumi.

    • Choose Your Own Adventure: Students choose from a variety of beginner projects to put their new skills to use.

    • Crochet Literacy: Crochet terms, how to read a simple pattern.

  • This course includes:

    • 1 ball of yarn

    • 1 crochet hook in an appropriate size

    • stitch markers
