FAQs

  • A pin loom is a portable, hand-held frame loom that makes 4" squares. It was first patented in 1934 under the name Weave-it and was a popular craft in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. The warping is done across a series of pins that run around all 4 sides of the frame. This style of pin loom groups the pins in clusters of 3, which allows the weaver to lay half of the weft pics during the weaving process, making the weaving faster than with other frame or pin looms.

  • It may at first seem that just making a bunch of 4" squares is very limiting. What else could you possibly make other than blankets? A lot, actually! These little squares can be sewn together to make home goods, Christmas decorations, and even clothes (and not just scarves, either)!
