Circular Knitting a Hat @ Studio Mooi

Graduate from 2 needles to 1 with circular knitting! Circular knitting is a useful skill that can be applied to making socks, mittens, hats, sweaters: anything you don’t want to have to sew together. This hat class teaches the basics of circular knitting, including using Magic Loop, and students get a warm, bulky hat at the end! This class is for knitters who are already comfortable with basic skills like knit and purl.   • This 3-hour workshop introduces circular knitting, including the Magic Loop method. Students should already be comfortable with basic knitting skills like knitting and purling.

    What You Will Learn:

    • How to Cast On: The trick to casting on and joining in the round without twisting

    • Circular Knitting: How to knit on circular needles, including executing knits and purls

    • How to Decrease in the Round with Magic Loop: No more switching to DPNs for the crown of a hat!

  • Students who choose the Without Materials ($85) option at checkout must bring their own:

    • 19mm 16” knitting needles

    • 1 ball of size 6 bulky yarn (Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick is an easy to find option)

    • yarn needle

    Students who choose the With Materials ($110) option at checkout will receive:

    • 1 ball of Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn]

    • 1 set of 9mm circular needles

    • 1 yarn needles
